New cupcake!

I have been really busy with so many events this month and still somehow managed to get myself to come up with a new cupcake. So here it is. Almond Turron cupcake. Its an almond cake with chocolate frosting topped with Turron pieces. What is Turron? Well let me tell you....it's a spanish treat that most hispanics grew up snacking on. I sure did! The smell alone of it brings back memories.

It is typically made of honey, sugar, and egg white, with toasted almonds or other nuts, and usually shaped into either a rectangular tablet or a round cake. It is frequently consumed as a traditional Christmas dessert in Spain and Italy. There are also some varieties in Latin America and the Philippines. In other countries it often appears, sometimes chocolate-coated, in a mixed box of chocolates.

Here is a pic:

And here is the pic of the cupcake:

The Turron pieces give it that little something extra...plus it goes CRUNCH in your mouth. yummyy!! This flavor will only be available in store so come get your Almond Turron!
